Providing the best home-reading environment
As traditional reading rooms expand beyond the hospital walls, enabling radiologists to have the same high quality experience in a remote location is vitally important. In addition, working from home is becoming increasingly more common and radiologists are no exception. But, as with any work-from-home situation, having the right equipment is vital to doing the best work possible. And managing QA and compliance of these remote workstations is a growing challenge for Healthcare organizations.
“There is a growing trend to do diagnostic reading outside the hospital, whether at independent imaging centers, by teleradiology groups or in the homes of radiologists. We are happy to present mobile diagnostic workstation solutions that allow radiologists the flexibility to work remotely while assuring the same diagnostic confidence and workflow efficiency they experience in the hospital reading room,” said Lynda Domogalla, Vice President of Product Marketing for Barco Healthcare.
At RSNA, Barco will demonstrate flexible and mobile solutions designed for remote reading. On show will be a variety of configurations that meet the quality guidelines and standards required for medical displays while still being ideal for a remote reading environment.
Addressing compliance and analytics concerns with QAWeb
A recent survey of healthcare professionals has shown that the majority of them find the complexity of complying with changing QC guidelines difficult to manage. That, coupled with the time spent managing quality has healthcare professionals searching for a solution.
Barco’s QAWeb provides those professionals with a solution that saves them time and money. Throughout RSNA, Barco will illustrate how QAWeb’s automation of calibration, testing, compliance and reporting enables healthcare professionals to focus on what matters most.
Proven differences in clinical outcomes and productivity
As a global leader in healthcare imaging, Barco has long been on the forefront of the industry with a focus on improving clinical outcomes and productivity.
Recent studies have illustrated that, compared to other mammography displays, Barco’s unique Coronis Uniti® display system has shown up to 30% increased detection probability of microcalcifications at increased display luminance levels with I-Luminate™ and 10% higher detection of small details in moving images with RapidFrame™. Taken together, the ability to detect more and with greater confidence leads to more positive outcomes for patients.
From a productivity standpoint, Barco’s SpotView™ enables radiologists to focus on a particular area of the image by increasing luminance in a region of interest. This results in an increase in the visibility of small details and an overall faster workflow.
Barco sponsors Image Perception Lab and Hologic workshops
Barco is a proud sponsor of both the Medical Image Perception Lab and Hologic Workshop.
The Medical Image Perception Lab, funded by the National Cancer Institute, offers radiologists the opportunity to learn about how they perform some of the complex perceptual tasks that are part of their daily work. In addition to being an in-kind sponsor and providing the displays for all 14 experiments, Barco is running a study on “Complex Image Processing in Mammography.” The Image Perception Lab will be in the Learning Center of the Lakeside Building from 8am to 4pm every day of the conference.
Additionally, Barco’s Coronis Uniti display systems will be used in Hologic’s Breast Health Hands-on Workshops throughout the show. These workshops provide continuing educational opportunities for radiologists to learn about the latest breast density assessment parameters and improving tomosynthesis read times. Visit the workshops in the South Hall, Booth 5524.
